If your band is interested in playing a show with Underworld Events, PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW. If you're still interested, email us at "booking@underworldevents.com" with "opener" in the subject line.  Include your band's contact name, phone number, email address and links to your band on facebook, youtube etc.

Tickets:

Bands are NOT required to sell a certain number of tickets, and most shows are not "pay to play" (ie buying a certain number of tickets in advance).  Selling tickets is voluntary.  However, time slots will be based on how many tickets your band sells.  The bands that open for a lot of shows bust ass to sell tickets ensuring a good turnout, which is why they get to play a lot of shows.  If a band doesn't work hard to sell tickets and promote, there are a lot of other bands that will.  Opening up for nationals is a great opportunity you will not get in many other places, take advantage of it.

Time Slots:

Bands usually have 20-30 minutes to play and about 15 minutes for set up and break down.  We provide a basic backline so change outs do not require much.  TUNE UP AND GET YOUR PEDALS IN ORDER BEFORE YOU GET ONSTAGE and have everything ready to go when you are next.  If you take too long to set up, that time will come out of your playing time.  Slot times are pre-determined and in most cases set in stone by contract, so we stay with the schedule....always.  Nationals DO NOT like going on stage late because a local opener decided to play an encore or did not tune up before they got onstage.

Backline:

To facilitate quick change outs between bands, we normally use the same backline which we provide (minus cymbals/drum pedals/heads). If you really want to use your own gear, we are open to the idea.  However, all the opening bands must be able to use the gear. Bands will not be allowed to bring guitar/bass cabinets or drumsets into the venue.  The stage has 2 guitar cabinets, one bass cab and a 5 piece single pedal drumset with cymbal stands.  Unless otherwise noted for a show, bring your own heads & drummers brings pedals/cymbals.  Again...you need to bring your own guitars, heads, keyboards, cables, effects pedals, drum sticks, cymbals, kick pedal and if you like, you can bring your own mics, throne and snare.  NO OTHER GEAR WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.  One more time, security will not let you in if you are carrying a cabinet or drum set.

Radius Clause:

Everyone wants to ensure that the shows are well attended and promoted properly.  As such, if you are playing a show with Underworld Events, we ask that you do not book any other shows on the island for at least 2 weeks on either side of the show so there are no conflicts.  We understand that bands want to play as many shows as possible, but overplaying has a negative impact on the bands and the shows.   If you have something booked already when you book a show with us, please let us know and we can discuss to make sure it doesn't conflict.  If you do book within 2 weeks, you may be dropped from the bill.  We don't want to be dicks, so we are very upfront about this condition.

Merchandise:

You will be allowed to sell merch and we will have an area set up for it if you notify us in advance of the show you will be selling.

Guestlist:

In most cases, you will be allowed one person per band member.
